Messiah 2 and NTSC -> PAL50

Could anyone advise whether the Messiah 2 chip installed on a UK Pal machine will output NTSC or PAL50 when an NTSC PS2 game is played? I have a TV that can only play standard PAL50 and I'm looking to play import originals. My PS2 can currently play import originals using a no-solder chip and Swapmagic 2.0 but outputs them as NTSC.

Bummer. Ah well, ta for the info. I guess I'll have to get a new NTSC compatible TV when I can. In the meantime, I can at least play Silent Hill 2: Greatest Hits and others squished (the UK ver of SH2: GH is going to be the 'director's cut' and likely retail at full price, dammit!)
