I am trying to back up my copy of F1 2001 using Clone CD but reading it to my HD first but it wont even get past 1%, drive just keeps on spinning up ?!?! I am aware this is probably due to protection, but it seems there is a way round everything.

i am using the latest version or Clone CD and Nero with a Liteon 24101b

make sure "fast error skip" is ticked in read, as the protection (safedisc2) has read errors on the disc which drives take ages to read.

You would be better off downloading ClonyXL from gamecopyworld, and using that to set the right settings in CloneCD.

If your drive still takes ages, then check out daemon tools and its "fast dump" feature.
