does the Messiah 2 work on every ps2 or is there a punch of different chips or does it only work on some ps2s

a new problem
yes well now i am faced with a new problem. every yime i put a game in my ps2 the system will not read it its like i put in a blank cd-r. if i go to the browser it will say "reading disk..." for about 2 seconds then the mesage disapers and there is no disk icon. i don't have a chip and i have tried ps1, ps2 cd, and ps2 dvd games and i always get the same thing can anyone help me? and it is a version 1.

Have you tried cleaning the lens with a lens cleaning cd (the one with brushes)?
otherwise it could be your laser optics wearing out.

nope it would not read the lens cleaner. and something i noticed (not sure if i have the right spelling) if i close the tray with no cd in it still says "Reading disk..." any ideas? (mainly how to fix the lens) thanks

Since you have a V1 PS2, your best option would be to get a new PS2 instead of trying to find a laser for yours.....
