You donīt have v4.13! You have 4.13.xx.xxxx - check the last 4 digits - thatīs the īversionī nVidia tells on their download page, e.g. I have 4.13.01.4072 installed atm, which is Detonator v40.72.

Higher version number is newer, therefore 41.09 is newer/40.72 is older ...

All of the 40's series are terrible UNLESS you have a Geforce 4. Now the 41's are decent and stable. Been using the 41.09 (still beta BTW) and had no problems whatsoever.
If you do have problems with the 41.09 driver then dont drop back to the 40.72 driver, but the 30.82. Thats still the best all round driver in my opinion.

I have a GF4 Ti 4400 and all the 40 and 41.xx drivers are terrible. I still use the 30.82's also. They are the best for my system.
If I still had a GF3 I would still be using the 23.11's. They were the best ever. |

41.09 drivers are quite big. 16.9 MB. It'll take me a while to download that!

I would recommend Nvidia Omega Drivers.
http://www.omegacorner.com/nvidia.htm But this newest one, I haven't try yet. Just saw it. Previously I'm using his 30.82 tweaked driver. |

I've tried the 40.72 instead of previous drivers version.
I test performance of my graphics cards and it has increased very good. I haven't tried the new version (41.09) yet. So if someone could tell me if there is a big improovment instead of 40.72 I'll appreciate it (16,8 are hard to download! so I want to know if I have any benefits) |

I wouldn't bother with ANY of the "40" range of drivers just yet, especially if you're on a dial up ISP, they're a waste of download time for the features they offer.
30.82 seem to be the drivers of choice at the monent for GEforce 4 (TIs & mx's) cards, there seems to be no performance change that I can discern with 3DMark & the new interface is clumsy - (hey nvidea whats with that LH "sub"menu thing, it's crap.) the new bendy screen feature is fun for about 12 minutes but ultimately, -if you've got a semi-decent monitor- pointless, & not worth the download time. trade the time you could spend downloading useless video features for a frag fest |
