PROBLEMS

I'm from Brazil, and i'm finding very difficult to find help in our sites about CDR. It's also very difficult to find good writers to buy like Plextor. I own a LG 8081B, i really don't know whether it's good or not because i couldn't find informations about it, only about 8080. I've learned a lot about SAFEDISK2, i've alredy have unsafedisc and the detector, but i still don't know how to make a copy of a game which uses it. I would like to know how can i do it, if my writer is good, and where can i find more informations.

Thanks. Henrique

1. search the net for many companies that will sell you a good cd writer and ship it anywhere.

2. Go to the home of cloneCD www.elaborate-bytes.com and check out the cd writer listings. CloneCD is the best 1:1 cd copying software IMHO

3. you need a burner capable of DAO-RAW + sub channel to copy safedisc1 and securom protections.

4. You will need a writer which does correct EFM encoding to do safedisc2.

5. CloneCD plus a writer which does EFM correctly, DAO-RAW + subchannel, should be able to copy anything

6. Unsafedisc 2_xx_xx does create a game.exe file which, in some cases (e.g. Max Payne), will not need the cd to run.

Or you could sod all of the above, accept the fact that your burner is poor, and run Daemon tools (see above) to mount a CD image made with CloneCD. Then you need no cracks, patches etc.

Kinda difficult matey as I personally don't have a burner capable of burning Safedisc2. I'm a bit of a code fiddler myself.

But, from what I can gather, the new Lite-On LTR-24102B (Atapi) is about as good as it gets.
It'll handle sd1+2, securom 1+2 as well.

Like I say, find a writer that has DAO-RAW 96 and EFM checked at the ClonCD site, and yake ya chances.
I've also heard that the latest Plextor PX-W2410A (Atapi) is a cpable drive. (may be based upon the Lite-on's internals......not sure though!)

In the end, I'm afraid it's a bit of a gamble.
