You will need to buy a modchip and install it in your XBox before you can start making backups of your games.

Question

And if you already have a MOD chip! Which program is best and what is the easiest/safest way to make a good backup of a game?
In the PS2 section of this forum there are some great tutorials to backup PS2 games. Does anyone have such a tutorial for X-box games?

THX for the reply!

It's honestly really involved to cover in a single post. There are loads of tutorials on the net (here and www.xbox-scene.com), and it's been covered bit by bit on this forum (do a search). Searching for Bruce Lee will get you one example, actually.

Summary is that you need to install Evox on your HD, ftp the files from the Xbox to the PC (No, a PC DVD-ROM or DVD-R drive won't work), then burn them either in UDF mode, or make an ISO - your choice.

I'm sorry but it is all new for me and it is probably a stupid question: What is 'in UDF mode' ?

THX,

Sorry, dude, I pointed you at the tutorials. UDF is a particular writing mode, but it's not really realistic to expect people to retype page after page of instructions over and over again because someone didn't want to search.

Not knocking you - but you now need to take it from here. Read the stuff, if you still have questions *after reading*, do a search on the forums. If you can't find what you're looking for, post the question and you'll get help.

I also have the sony drive. All you have to do is get your files from ftp, use xiso to create an image and use Nero to burn the image file. (Go to file -> burn image) - Helps to try on the dvd+rw it came with since it burns fast and to make sure the games work.
