Battlefield 1942 Help (Not with online stuff)

Okay, this has happened before, and I don't know how I fixed it... But, when I press the EXE (I rebooted, didn't help) then the clock icon comes up, and then goes away and the game never loads. Can I get some help here?

IF IT'S Windows XP/2000, patch it to 1.2 then go to "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings\VideoDefault.con" and change "renderer.allowAllRefreshRates" from 0 to 1. (open with Notepad)

When it starts, pick a resolution and refresh rate your monitor can handle.
