Question Asking for a friend

Hi!

My friend has an xbox which he is planning to get modded.

The Evo 2.5 mod chip was recommended. Is it any good? I have a Ps2 and I told him that (poor analogy) he needs something like the Messiah2 for the ps2: you pop in the backup and it plays.

Question# 2: How do you make backups of xbox games? For ps2, I can just make a copy on dvd-r and it works. What is the procedure for the xbox?

TIA!!

I've got a pc bioxx and could not be happier. But it may be a little hard to find.
All xbox chips are no swap so no need to worry there.

To burn games its a little different. You need to set up a network with your PC, I use a router and it works great. You then need to install EvoX dash. Then you can use ftp to transfer games to your hard drive on the PC and either make an ISO or burn them as a data disc. You can find alot more detailed info at Xbox-scene.

Hope that helps.

Can't he do this?

http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/primoDVD.php

Put the xbox dvd game in his PC's dvd-rw drive, copy it to dvd-r and then play the dvd-r on his xbox?

Nope, pc wont read an xbox game, you have to ftp it.
You need to be looking at the tutorials section. Read those and search the forums before posting questions.
