What's your copying weapons?

I've been away of this forum for a damn while cuz I went out of biz..kinda. It was the time when SwenSKy and Zeddy ruled here, and also PLEXTOR. Now I'm back and I'm shopping for another cdwr. So I'm referring to the "pros" ;D .

As far my research gone, Acer's late models combo with Toshiba cd/cd-dvd reader are the weapons of choice, but i also heard problems about the use of it. Hmm, before I go to the store and buy, I rather know people experiences copying games and burner they used (as for the burning soft :P ).

Finaly someone who #####s before they buy a burner, im pi*sed with people coming here wondering why their burner doesnt copy games...
clonecd and acer will copy the new sd2 which everyone is bitching about however as for the dvd reader, its a bit of an overkill if you already have a cdrom that reads subchannel data from some games protections, vcds, cdtexts etc.
you cant really go wrong with acer unless you are an idiot and dont bother to read instructions before burning!
if you have an old cdrw drive that can read subchannel data then you can avoid buying the toshiba dvd drive.
as an alternative to acer you can get a phillips upon which the acer chipset is based.

ps: acers arent the most realiable drive, but they got it where it counts...
pss: feel free to get a second opinion...

I think that the Plextor 12x10x32 is an excellent burner...

I havent had one underbuffer error since Ive ####ted using my Plextor 12x10x32 CDRW. I have copied lots of games, with several different CD protections, using in combinations: Plextors Copy utilities, Adaptec EZ cd creator utilities and Disk Juggler, different programs have there plus's and minus's, butr overall I believe with these programs you can copy anything. And with the ability to copy full 700 meg CD's in under 8 minutes, makes it alot easier then my first CDRW ( Fast and Friendly, 4x2x8... ) Now those were the days..
Anyways, I would strongly suggest to anyone to purchase a Plextor drive, they go easily under 300$
and are pretty awesome with what they do.. hope this helps you and others out a little before deciding on what drive to buy.

^_^ I finally bought a Tosh DVD ^_^

Thx for the Info. Today I went to many store and finally found a Toshiba CD/DVD SD-1502 reader and bought it. It was the reader of choice for many times and I think I cant go wrong with. And I was tired of my of old 48x Creative CD reader anyway ;D .

But as for the writer, since I dont need CDRW immediatly,I think I will wait till august when the new 2410 Plextor will hit the market. I heard lot of good comments on it.
