Mac and DVD-BackUps - problems

I have the newest chip (Nexus = Messiah) installed in my PS2 but my PS2 backups (only DVD-Games) won't play...

iMac G4 Superdrive (newest firmware), Jaguar, Toast 5.2, Intenso-, Sony- or Apple-DVD-R.
I did it this way: Inserted the orig. DVD-Game - Copy - inserted DVD-R. But also the way over an image does not work...

I've sent the PS2 back to those freaks who built in the chip, along with some of my burned DVD-Games. They say: "Your DVD-Games even don't play on our PS2s..." - and they found (like me also) that some original DVD-Games won't play even. They are working on the laser now...

My question: Do I something wrong in the backup-process? What kind of superdrive do you use with what version of Toast under Jaguar - and which DVD-R work? Thanks for help!

I use Mac o.s 9.2, yeah I know its old but it works

I will get into OS X as soon as I can find a serial/crack for toast 5.1.4

but under Os 9 all u have to do is rip the entire image from the dvd using dvd extractor (shareware) and then burn the Image as "DVD Bridge" in toast 5.2

Cd games just select disk copy in toast, I have heard that this works with DVD games to, but I know my other method works and at $12 (AUD) a dvd-r I'm sticking to that atm.

feel free to send me some dvd-r media and I'll get an Os x Method worked out for u.

Thanks elkay - I'll test it your way and...

I also have OS 9.2.2 with Toast 5.1.4 and 5.2
I also have DVD Extractor (but only use it for encrypted movie-DVDs yet).
Does that mean, that DVD-Games are set to a region like movie-DVDs? That could be the answer why DVD-Games are corrupted when copied with Toasts 'copy' feature.
If you need serialz or software for X - and even Jaguar itself - let me know, send me a mail!
Thanks for your reply!

Solved!

It was the PS2 laser. Adjusting the laser brought back full fun: all my DVD backups work - even on low cost DVD-R.

Toast works perfect: Just choose copy and the rest is done in 30 min.

Hi elkay,

it was not me - the guys at www.konsolenfreaks.de did the job. i've sent them my ps2 along with some dvd-r i've burned. they tested those dvd-r in their own PS2 - didn't work. they checked the dvd-r with a PC - seems ok - but also seems that my superdrive laser writes a little uncorrect... they adjusted the laser in my PS2 so that i'm able to read originals and even my burned dvd-r.
now everything works perfect. i choose 'copy' in toast 5.2 under os x 10.2.2 - insert original - click 'burn' or make image (both ways work) and insert a dvd-r. ready for takeoff!
