Hitman 2

During the game I get no sound effects ( guns shots, walking, ect) however I can hear the voices in the cutscenes and stuff liek that. Anyone know why or could maybe help me out? Thanks

Are you using the no cd patch? If so, does it work correctly without the patch?

what type of sound car do you have? do you have the latest drivers?

if its an older sound card the game might not support it properly or you might have to turn the sound acceleration down in DXDIAG

to get there go to START->RUN, type DXDIAG, then change it in the sound tab

I have a SB Live! Wave Device, not sure if there are updated drivers because I couldnt find any.

Choose your Operating System & SoundCard and get new drivers.

I have a SB Live! Player and it works perfectly with ANY game.
Finest Sound in Hitman 2, too.

Are you playing from orig disk?

The 1.01 patch fixes this - but then of course there isn't a 1.01 crack yet. so you need the disk & I think its not possible to do a "pure" 1:1 (if you have a working copy - it's not a 1:1)

It's mainly a problem on older SB Live 5.1's or cards using EAX1 or 2, which is what your's sounds like. So if you can't fix it with a sound card driver as suggested by other posters the only other way I have found to fix this is to disable EAX in the game.

You can do this in the sound menu or put "EAXdisabled 1" in your hitman2.ini file

You lose a little atmosphere but it still sounds great without EAX.
