Best CD-RW for burning software?

Which CD-RW does the best job in copying protected software/games?

This is answered many times. If you have a look at the Clone CD website - www.elby.ch - and look at the list of supported writers, you will see a few writers which have two sheep in the EFM column. These are good writers for copying Safedisk 2 etc. You will also want it to be able to read/write subchannel data, RAW mode.

Good writers include Lite-on's and LGs

Ok, if you clicked the link in my post above and goto supported writers you will see in the EFM column, that writers have either no sheep, one, or two. No sheep are not capable of 'correct EFM coding of regular bits (in other words cannot copy Safedisk 2). One sheep burners are capable of *almost* perfect EFM coding - this means can copy Safedisk 2 upto but not including 2.51.021 (2.51.020 also knocks out some burners, but only some).
Two sheep means that is can copy all Safedisk versions except the latest (2.8).

I have a Plex 24X (one sheep) and an LG 8400B (two sheep).
The Lite on is a good buy as it is very cheap and is a "two sheep burner".

To copy the latest version of Safedisk 2 (2.8) the software you use will have to give a little help - Alcohol 120% does this most reliably in my opinion. It also can help none and one sheep burners copy the Safedisk versions.

Buy the Lite-on!
