Need help with GTA3

I just got GTA3 today, but I cannot play it. When I try to start GTA3 i get the following message:

Unhandled Exception: c0000005
At address: 00581cfc

I updated to version 1.1 and now the error is:

Unhandled Exception: c0000005
At address: 0058203c

Can someone please tell me what is causing this and how to fix it! I thank you in advance for any help at all.

Are you playing with any crack applied ? Are you using the originals ? What video card and driver version do you have ?

I am not using any cracks. I tried a no-cd with ver. 1.0, but got the same error. I have absolutly no idea what video card or driver I have though.

My video card is built into the motherboard. I'm not sure how that can be the problem, because every other game I have works fine. Warcraft III is the most recent game I have.

With these kinds of errors, usually either your video or your sound card driver is at fault. Onboard video and sound tends to be not as well supported as separate video cards. The only thing you can do is 1) update your video and sound drivers to the latest version 2) experiment with the sound acceleration slider in dxdiag.exe.
