There is no such link on the Magc 2.

We need more info:

1 Which PS2? PAL or NTSC?

2 Are these PS2 or PS1 games?

3 What cable to the TV are you using?

Hello charlie and thank you for your reply

sorry for not providing enough info

pal ps2 v7 magic2 on green pcb

ps2 backup of lotr twin towers played in the ps2
b/w

the lead i am using is the original one Eg: came in the box

I was told ntsc ps1 backups will not boot with the v7 +magic2
is this correct Think i read about it also on china magic site.

when I mentioned the link i belive it is the 4 small solder points
just above the 2nd largest chip on the magic 2 modchip
and think you need to bridge top lefy and bottom left
to make the colour corection for ntsc on the pal v7 ps2.
Is this totally wrong what i was thinking then?

Thanks Charlie for your help

lotr twin towers i would guess this is a ntsc game

the reason its in bw is your tv is pal only

your options to cure this

1 buy fully loaded scart lead
2 patch every ntsc game to pal
3 buy a ntsc to pal converter

4 best solutio is add ntsc colour link to yuor ps2 its only 1 wire

As i mentioned in previous post is this the link
i am on about so i can play ntsc games in colour.

I have a feeling when the installer modded the ps2 he
has not bridged the colour corection link enabling me to
play ntsc games in colour.

Anymore info on the ps1 ntsc backups for the pal v7 magic 2
and compatibility

Thanx m8

Polosolo,

I'm not sure if this helps any, but I do have some info regarding magic 2 chips and incompatibility.

Some of my friends who own ps 2's (older versions, I think) chipped with the magic 2 complained that the screen was wonky, as in squinted, when they played (pirated) ps 1 games on it. But they did have colour. This is because their ps 1 games, being ntsc, were incompatible with their pal machines.

I remember an article from some e-catalog company selling mod-chips stating that the new messiah has an added feature of providing the same screen-size regardless of the game being ntsc or pal. This could only mean that the other brands of mod-chips suffer from the "wonky screen" problem. Perhaps your problem may have something to do with it.

Hope this may help in some way.
