Tcm V1.0

I have downloaded and installed the early fixed EXE off GCW by Immersion.
What does this crack actually do?
Should my old games run perfectly? As i have been unable to play text mode without the game crashing. Or will the patch only work for new games that I start?

I would be grateful for your help.
