To handle Safedisk 2 with the greatest ease you need a burner capable of perfect EFM coding - http://www.elby.ch/english/products/...p.html#philips - go ahead, click the link, it won't bite.
For a burner to have perfect EFM coding, it must have "two-sheep" in the EFM column on the above site. If someone recommends a drive to you, check out that site to see how it competes.
However, just because it hasn't perfect EFM coding, doesn't mean that it can't copy Safedisk 2 - software such as Alcohol 120% will make up for this fact, although the copy won't be a true 1:1 copy, it's near enough. That said however, even two-sheep burners cannot copy Safedisk 2.8 one-to-one, this is where the software will help again.
Securom New (>4.8) cannot be copied 1:1 by cd-writer, however, once again the software can help here a great deal (not true 1:1 again, but close enough.

Good writers include Lite-on's (also very cheap), some LG models, and many more. Personnally I have a Plex 24X (one sheep), and an LG 8400B (two-sheep). Although I rarely use the LG in backing up as I like the Plextor's top quality.

This is only a very brief overview, if you want more information on the copy protections being used, how to defeat them and what's required then read the FAQ.

As I said, Lite-on's are notoriously good (24X, 32X, 40X, 48X 52X)at beating Safedisk 2. I do suggest however downloading Alcohol 120% as it has greater success rates that CCD at the moment.
If you have a look at the FAQ you will find it very informative.
