Why are the rar files all corrupted?

I have downloaded the Nascar Thunder 2003 no cd crack from every blasted site listed, and have used winrar 3.0 to try and open this...and I get the same message on all of them. "File Corrupted"

What is going on here?

You sure u got the latest version of WinRAR?

Erm.......You aint using any download managers are you?? If so disable them, and try downloading the patch again.

and I have tried every link there...I get the rar correctly and then when I click on it, I get an "unexpected end of archive" message. I close that and tell it to place the file and I get the "crc error:file is corrupted" message.

I have spent over 2 hours downloading from every link, and still nothing but what is above. All except for the first one in the US Mirror, and all that wanted me to do was to sign up for e-mail mags and offers, there was no download there at all

I use the shift-right click to get the files and I am STILL getting them corrupted....my icq number is 2439476 if your not doing anything, hows about sending it to me that way?

The front page of this group said it had the patch...I tried to download the patch and my winrar v3. program kept coming back with a corrupted file. All I was asking for is help getting the patch that is offered by Game Copy World. Since I own the game in question, I am not asking for any warez or things like that.

According to the rules of this board I am well within the posted regulations so your post does not make any sense.

I am not trying to be rude, but it is not like I asked for a link to a warez copy of this game, all I asked was for some help in getting something that GCW is offering for free...where is the harm in that?

I had the same problem with the rar files for BF 1942. I too used winrar 3.x.

It drove me nuts as I downloaded the files from every link.

I went to megagames and dled the .zip files and they worked.

Hopefully it was some kind of fluke, as other 3.x rar files have worked fine recently.

When you read the stickies, you might have noticed this one. It's there for a good reason : we get countless questions from newbies using outdated archivers and thinking the files are corrupt. That's why you got the response you did. I must admit that it looks like that for ONCE, there really was a corrupt file hosted. Now I'm sorry you've got a nasty response, but trust me : you're the one exception in a neverending stream of newbies that don't bother to read the stickies, that's why this whole misunderstanding happened. So once again sorry for the poor reception and from me a big welcome to the board. I'm glad you did read the stickies, as I said very few new people seem to do that. I hope you've got a working crack now ?

I found my problem:

Netscape 4.79....

USE IE6 x and no problem with downloading .rar files....

I should have read:

.RAR & .ACE Files
When downloading files with the extension .RAR or .ACE use Internet Explorer to download the file as older versions of NetScape corrupts the file
as it doesn't know these file extensions.
