Answer to question 1:

The +R format will work on some ps2's... You will have to try it and see.
You cannot use the -R format with your drive..

Answer to question 2:

To burn CD based games, ALWAYS use Clone CD and a 100% compatible burner.....

What version PS2 do you have.... The +R format can be read in V5 or higher.... (Not all, but most)
If you never try 1, you will never know if you can or not....

This stupid old moderator who's the subject of a confidence vote has posted a specific article on the DVD+R subject in one of the factoids.

If they are so "expensive" that you won't even try 1, how were you going to backup games if you found out the +R format would work???
It probably won't matter anyway because you have a V4, BUT you still will never know unless you try....

hehe, yeah it matters, its quite possible that your drive wont be able to read it properly if its full of scratches

Always take care of your games

Most scratches will polish off if you use a finishing car polish and a soft cloth to polish. I have done this and saved many originals that way.

Deep scratches will not always polish off.

@Liquidus

if you ever get into a position where your dvd+r dose you proud, you need to start looking at where you shop 4 disc's
cdrmedia.co.uk has 3 brands to choose from & BigPockets are selling Datasafe DVD+R Branded 4.7 gb - Single disc @ £1.16 (see below links) and there are many other places to look for deals

....why at those prices im sure you'll buy some just to make some Pat Butcher earings !!!!

http://www.cd-rmedia.co.uk/cgi-bin2/...type=cat&id=18

http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/product.php?id=332

Hope this helps u a bit
