Gtaiii Problems

Since I installed my GForce 4Ti 4600 I cant get this game to work. When the first screen comes up (i.e. play game, options, ect.) there are no words just blank blocks. Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong with this? Is there a patch or something from Nvidia or something to fix this? Any responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Since u installed your GPU?? Stop bullshitting and read the Readme file that came with the game or do a search of the forums.

How many more times is there question gonna be asked? It's not even a "backup question" as it's a flaw the original game has. GTA3 is the most buggy, slow game i've even played. It's game engine is absolutely crap - even high-end computers can't play it at full tilt.
Hope this is fixed in the Miami game!!

Of course its fixed for Vice City. Its a PS2 only game. Thats the FIX needed. GTA3 played great on the PS2 but not so good on the PC, such a shite conversion.

I got a PS2 - Whoops ass! Forget GTA for PC for another FOUR YEARS! This is because Sony and Rockstar have signed an agreement that says that all games in the GTA series will be PS2 ONLY! So if you're hooked, you'll have to buy one! I can't believe anyone can go four years without a new GTA Game!

Actually, a version for the PC of Vice City is already being made. The big question is when it'll come out. Some think around christmas, the most pessimistic reports are october 2003. Four years ? My ass. PS2 exclusive ? Like the previous one, this 'exclusive' is only for consoles, meaning that while it'll probably never come out for other consoles, the pc version will definitely be here in less than one year.

I have the answer of your Problem:
You need a windows Xp patch for GTA3!!!
I/ve hat the same Problem like you;look at Gta3-Homepage (or Win XP Homepage);
There must be the patch to download: "Q306676_WXP_SP1_x86_DE" is the name of the Patch; then all is readable again!

Oh no, wrong mate. It will NOT. If you want to take it up with Sony Europe then fine - just don't say I told you so...

Oh, and by the way, the agreement wasn't signed when GTAIII was released and I can't see why it would be released for PC as it was the biggest load of donkey S*** i've ever played. I have a top end system and it was the most unstable slow piece of crap i've ever had the misfortune to install onto my system. What does anyone else think..?

Still, I wish you luck in your quest to find VC for PC but it will be a long time off yet...

I've been researching a bit more (original post was based on pretty consistent newsgroup info, but of course that's not always correct, heheheh), and I found about everything, going from 'there never was any VC pc', 'over there was but sony cancelled to sell some more paperweights/ps2's', to 'it's coming out april 2003, here's our exclusive preview' from some websites. At this point, neither you nor me seem to be right. It looks a bit like a quantum state : does it or doesn't it come out ? If it doesn't, I'm going to move to one of the parallel universes where it does come out for the PC, I rather liked the original

In the end, you're probably right, since a game in healthy production status usually doesn't generate this amount of 'it's cancelled/no it's not' traffic. Ah well, Mafia was better anyway
