PS2 Loading...

Does anyone use a Neo 2.2 and DVD Region X to boot there DVD PS2 Backups? I have no problem booting CD backups but cannot get DVD-R backups to work at all and the DVD-R's work fine in the PS2 as I have backed up movies to them, also tried 3 different types of DVD-R now

How do you load your DVD-R PS2 Backups with Neo 2.2 and DVD Region X Boot Disc?

Thanks

I had already looked at this and for my neokey type ( s-box one wire job) looks like a no no as it says nothing about dvd-r booting

looks like we might in for a mod upgrade mate!!!

@pug306d

I have to admit I don't know anything about DVD Region X Boot Disc but, I imagine your using it like I use my GS.

I think your missing the step where you swap your main boot disc with a original DVD game (I use Devil may cry demo) with high TOC.

@ GT

Cheers dude but i have the s-box and not the 2.2 i looked at bg's list and there is no mention of dvd-r booting on my style key (the first one on bg's list)
as for pug yes there is a way listed for him (and i will try that myself and see if it works - if it dose i will post it) that is why i led him to the same thread as yourself lol

my final bit about me and pug might need a mod upgrade is ... well wouldnt that be a happier solution to just have the best mod and "stop the swap" lol

I stand corrected, you are correct sir. I don't see that method on your type mod. At least not on that thread.

I do belive you do it as mentioned but can't state it as fact.

I will do a little research for you.

Sorry Dude,

I did some research for you and from what I can find it appears that the neokey sbox supports just CD-R backups.

Correct. Sbox/Neokey was one of the first modchips made for the ps2. Back then the only real concern was for cdr backups since most people only had cdr burners and the dvd burning wave had not yet come across.

Over the years modchips have changed and have different codes and the Sbox/Neokey has been outdated.
