Combat Flight Sim 3 and ATI 9700 Tech help
Has anyone tried CFS3 on a system with an ATI 9700? The game played fine (though somewhat slow) with my old GeForce 3 Ti500 card.
Now, I got an ATI 9700 Pro and it doesn't work at all. I've tried two driver versions, the 6-13-10-6166 and 6-13-10-6178. 6166 wont boot at all, and 6178 boots the game but it crashes after about 30 seconds. Anyone else had these problems? Thanks! |

Unfortunately, it seems that the 9700 drivers are currently incompatible with a lot of games. Just wait while ATI get their act together (hopefully) and in the meantime put the ti500 back in if you really want to play CF3.

Fine Zedy, thanks for the help.
Also, to anyone else who happens to read this, I DID get the game to work with the 9700. However, none of the drivers on the ATI website would do it, but the newest version on the Herecules website 6-13-10-6193 works fine with the game. And its a LOT faster and smother than with my Ti 500. Hopefully there will be working drivers from ATI out sooner or later. |
