I had a similiar error. I reapplied the 2136 patch again today along with the cracked .exe and it works now. In my tests last night trying to get it to work, I used a cracked .exe for 2107b and got the game to work. For some reason, the patches we're using isn't fully patching things every time.

I had a similiar experience patching a dedicated ut2003 server. I installed the base server, started to modify the UT2003.ini file to accomidate my server, then found that there's a command line utility to patch the server rather than me hunting down and finding the patches myself. At this point the server was still the base server, no patches with 1 modified .ini file. When I ran the update utility, it got all the way up to 2701b but wouldn't patch to 2126 because there was "no matching delta for DefUser.ini", a file that was never modified. Anyhow, I did a complete uninstall, reinstall, then patched the server before modifying any files and all went well. Due to this, I have very low confidence in the patches being released for this game. If I have to do some long reinstall AFTER my server is configured and running, I'm gonna be pissed.

Although I don't have UT 2003, I downloaded the crack just to look at it. However, I am skeptical that this new UT2003.EXE file is valid. There is an awful lot of dead space, i.e. 00 bytes, in it. Don't some of you think it suspicious at how much this file is compressed in the archive? Executable files don't normally compress so well, but this one is compressed at over 10:1.

Has anyone gotten this crack to run?

Yes, I was able to get it to run after reapplying the official 2136 patch then copying the cracked .exe to replace the official UT2003.exe.

When I couldn't get it to work yesterday, I downloaded a hex editor to compare the files (cracked and official). I also downloaded the old 1.0 cracked .exe to see if I can find anything in it. The old 1.0 cracked .exe is just under 800K. The new cracked .exe for 2136 is about 816K while the uncracked 2136 .exe is 872K. Launching the game produces a UT2003.log file. When I was checking the log file last night, it said I was running 2107b. After reapplying 2136 along wiith the new crack, the log reveals 2136 as the version number. This is the correct crack for this patch and it works fine. I did notice the 00's in the .exe and there were some major differences between the cracked and official .exe... but it works so all is well. :-)

Reapply the official 2136 patch then copy over the cracked .exe again. If that doesn't work, then I don't know what to say.

Like any sane person would do ,also contained within this thread are 2 direct links to the new no-cd fix courtesy of other members so you dont have to have it e-mailed anymore....look on page 2 i think.
