DVD backups with Ace Key

The steps I take to load DVD backup...

Boot up PS2 loading AR2 V2,
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 is default game selected (62 codes, 62 active),
select "start game",
select "with codes",
press eject twice,
swap with an original DVD game,
wait for green light,
press "x" to start game,
ORIGINAL DVD GAME STARTS!!!

I tried selecting other games other than Dave Mirra (having 100's of active codes), but when I get the "too many codes..." error, I can't go back to the menu to select "start without codes" ???
