Copying Safedisk2

Well, I hope that itīs correct to assume that Project IGI is a Safedisk2 protected game.
Iīve got a Plex124TSe, which is capable of extracting subcodes and it managed to copy ProjectIGI perfectly.
I used CdClone 2.8.4.2 with both Subchannel options enabled for read. For writing RAW DAO@1200Kb/s.

Enjoy.

Ohh, firmware 1.04.

Hi there mate,
you are right as far as I know about IGI. It does appear to have some elements of SD2. Although, not wanting to piss on your party, I've heard rumours that IGI is a weaker version of this dreaded lurgy. So, in short, you should be able to copy it with CloneCD+compatible burner but try RA2 and attempt to run it from a different CDROM. That's the big test at the moment....!

Enjoy.

Ohh, firmware 1.04.

RA2, that would be Red Alert 2, right?
And yes, I heard those rumors too. One thing for a fact:
No 00000001.tmp oer 000000002.tmp dummy files. Those are supossed to be present with SD2, right.
And yes, Ive tried it on all my drives:
ultra plex 40x
teac 532S
teac r58s
toshiba XM-6102B (DVD) BTW anything runs in this!!!
asus 500a

That shloud be some prove for a good copy, donīt ya tink???

So IGI is SD2 if those .tmp files are present. But it does seem to be a weaker version. I'll just have to get a copy of RA2 and IGI and have a fiddle!!

What makes you say that it's protect cd......if you 're believing a copy protection detector program then BEWARE. These progs only compare characteristics of a cd to an internal set of rules. Since it would appear that SD2 has variations, I'm not convinced of these progs reliability. (I use pretty much all of these progs and recently got different results with CM00/01 for each program)As we said above, IGI appears to use dummy files in the main directory (a trait of sd2) so could be a weaker version of SD2.If it is, it will copy and play in any drive. Again, SD2 is new and there is the possibility of variations according to each software developer's needs.

IGI UK version is NOT Safedisk 1 of 2, there are no read errors, just dummy files.

hello crispy,i here what you are saying about the protection detectors, but as far as igi is concerned if it plays from any cd rom then it's not sd2(i've only seen one "weak" safedisk protection and that's safedisk1)
