change a nero cd-image into a dvd image?

I was wondering if it is possible to change a nero cd-image into a nero dvd-image. I dont know why I got a cd-image when I was trying to make a backup of a dvd game (Tekken 4) and I dont understand how it can be a cd image when its over 4 gb in size.

Oh, and I cant now retry it because the dvd original is too badly scratched but I do still have the cd-image on my hard-drive.

Thanks for any help

If you have the original DVD files or image on your Hard Drive then just use Prassi Primo DVD to make a global image and burn it to a blank DVD-R. It will work .

as long as u select the dvd burner as the recording device u should be able to burn that image onto whatever media is in the drive - providing it fits of course. I don't believe nero distingushes(sp??) between an image from a cd or a dvd. As u r only taking an image of the used section. Example, the used space on the dvd is 630Mb, u can create an image of this and then burn it onto cdr.

I could be wrong.

Best thing to do is burn your image onto dvd-rw and give it go.

Woohoo, this is my 100th post!!!!!

Argh another coaster, I made the image into a .gi using prassi, it went onto the dvdr ok but it wouldnt boot on the ps2, and Ive tried to put it onto a dvdr using nero but the program doesnt allow you to put a cd-image onto a dvdr.

Is there a way to extract the info, using isobuster for example, and burn that onto a dvdr so it will boot?

Thanks for the help

its not the media then, if you can try re-starting from the beginning following the primo tutorial in the sticky post above, follow it to a t and you should have a working backup.

with regard to your cd-image burning it to dvd-r... I am trying to do this myself at the moment. I will post something on here when I finally (hopefully) get it working.

Can you rent games in England?

I'm from the US but I live in Taiwan now. You can't rent anything other than movies here. Makes sense, who would rent a game for 3 to 5 dollars when you can walk to the local game store and buy a copy for 2 to 3 dollars.

Yep, sure can! The best thing about this country is the fact that you can't rent anything for that crappy KakboX. HAHAHAHAHA

ok, lets get this one sorted..

you have a Pioneer 1(A)04 & Prassi Primo DVD

1. how have you got the drive set up in your pc
2. have you managed to burn and dvd-r based game using your Pioneer?
3. have you successfully used Primo before for a dvd-r game?
4. have you tried using nero to backup dvd
5. What boot method are you using? can you confirm this method works on your PS2 for other dvd-r games

ok, I have Pioneer 104 & prassi primodvd 2.0 with px engine update. The drive is set up as slave, i have managed to backup 2 out of 2 dvd-r games using prassi (i used to use nero and burnt about 10 dvd-r successfully). and the boot method is using neo 2.2 ar2 v1.92 GTA 3 swap which works successfully with every game including DMC. As i said ive got a cd-image made with nero, but its a DVD based game (it is the full DVD game, not a rip) but when I try to open it using nero it says its a cd-image and wont allow me to put it onto dvd-r media

ok, for your scenario...

is your original un-readable, does the PS2 read it? does your dvd-rom read it?
try using bit of cleaning polish on the disc, mr sheen works fine for me, gently rub the polish in an outwards direction on the disc. then try reading it again.
if the above doesn't work, your best bet would be to go to your local rental store, hire the game out, and create your backup copy from that, keeping hold of your original obviously.

supposidly there is a way to take cd image and put onto dvd-r, cant tell you exactly how to do this buecause not found out yet myself.

hope this helps
