Red Magic 2 modchip?
I heard that the Magic 2 modchip is really good. I even read sometiimes that its even better than the Messiah. First of all is this true? Second I read that the Magic 2 chip comes in different colors. Does the colors make a difference? And now I also hear that there is a Messiah 2? I am very confused someone please help. Thanx for reading, hope you post a comment. Thanx again.

Magic 2 (Red) is a fine chip for all PS2 versions (BIOS 020 upwards). Magic 3 will be out in about 2-3 weeks and will be a slightly better chip.
Likewise Messiah is the best chip for all PAL PS2s (v3 - v6) and the new Messiah 2 will be available in the same timescale asMagic 3 for all US and PAL PS2s. I get pre-production Messiah2s in the next day or so and will be conducting a review. My advice is to wait for about three weeks. Price, I believe, will be competitive.

Charlie thanx for always posting a reply. Your replies are also very informative. I have one more question. What are the Magic 3 chip and Messiah 2 chip going to do differently than the ones that came out before? I thought these chips already got as good as they can get. Please let me know more. Thanx again!

The Messiah 2 supposedly will boot ALL games just as if they were original games..No pressing reset or anything. Just put it in the tray, close the tray, and the game will boot...
Also the Messiah 2, will only have 1 chip and it will work in EVERY console.... It will also have the capability to be turned off.... And a couple of other things.... I'm unsure as of now about the Magic 3... You can check out more info on the Messiah 2 at the website... Messiah 2 website!

Thanks BG for replying to my message. Your reply was very informative. Can I ask for your opinion on mod chips? I live in the U.S. so my PS2 is an NTSC. What would you recommend?
Would it be a big mistake to purchase say a Red Magic 2 modchip? I understand that the Messiah 2 improves on a couple things like the ability to turn off and how games can boot with putting them in instead of having to push reset after the game is put in, but besides those advantages, Messiah 2 is basically operates the same way as the Magic 2 chip right? My personal opinion..... I would wait a couple of weeks and see when the M2 is going to be released.... If you notice my signature, I went through alot of trouble just to have a Messiah. (ie.. bought a PAL unit specifically to get a Messiah)...
The Magic 2 seems to be a good chip... BUT I would wait for the M2....

wait for messiah 2 im sure messiah2 will b just same pal/ntsc this time

I have a PhoenixLE/Messiah in my U.S. v4 console... Runs great just like the Ultra 2 modchip.
If you can't wait the Ultra 2 run for $100 for v7 unit. Not sure what the avil of m2 will be or the price & will it get delayed..?...
