PS1 Backups on PS2
Can somebody please tell me if its possible to play backups of Playstation 1 games on a PS2 modded with neo 2.2 and using AR2 v.1.92. All my backups used to work fine on my playstation, but none work on my PS2. Thanks for any help

Re: PS1 Backups on PS2
Quote:
Booting Playstation 1 backups & Playstation 2 originals Wouldn't it be great if all backups booted like this [Messiah 2 does!] ! • Power off the PS2 for 5 seconds • Boot as normal - no special method How to boot Playstation 1 originals NOTE: This technique simply deactivates the chip • Insert your PSX original • Power off the PS2 for 5 seconds • Press reset for 1 second (Until blue light comes on) then let go • Game will now boot as normal - the chip is deactivated How to boot PSX imports • Insert your PSX original • Power off the PS2 for 5 seconds • Turn on the machine • Press eject just before the PSX LOGO SCREEN • Swap with your PSX import backup • Press eject to close the tray • The game will now load

Thanks you guys for answering. But none of the suggestions work, the only information I can supply you with is the model number which is : SCPH 30003.
I have read somewhere that some of the boot methods mentioned wont work on a version 4 board, but I dont know if thats the board I have or not. Anyway thanks for trying. Oh, and I know for certain that the modchip works |

If your PS2 is modded with a neo 2.2 (correctly installed) all you need to do to play PSX backups is insert the backup, close the tray and press reset once. You dont need a AR2, GS2 or any kind of swap trick to play the backup.

It could be a number of things, media, dirty laser, backup, chip not installed correctly. I have a old v2 PS2 with a neo 2.2 modchip. The boot method posted is correct.

If the mod-chip wasnt installed correctly, then Im assuming that PS2 backups wouldnt work also, but they do, the media ranges from TDK to Verbatim, and I just cleaned the lens, so that cant be it... Oh well thanks anyway
