Baldures gate 1 and 2

HI everyone , i bought baldures gate 1 to relalise something was wrong ..... when i play the game its like something is clicking a buton down the bottom because when i click on the quick spells menu it just goes back to the start menu ......... so i cant do any spells . and when i be a fighter i cant even walk ......... so (dumb me ) i bought baldures gate 2 to see if it would change ..... it didnt ......dose exactly the same thing. i have a pentium 3 700 mgh nivida gfource 2 32mg 256sd ram . packard bell computer. if u guys can help i would be very gratfull.
