Backup of FFIX on PSone

I got a PSone 1 year ago, and the store modded it.
Is it possible to run FFIX un such old modchips.
I heard it got some protection.

Ohhhhhh, Final Fantasy 9 (XI).
If you've got the NTSC version then it's got no protection.
Not sure about the PAL version.

It depends on what type of modchip u have.
I have a PsOne and modded early year 2000 and i have FF IX (US version). Backed it up without any probs. Ok, I think I had to patch it with the psone patch but I think that the reson is that I have a PAL PsOne.

Do u have a PAL och NTCS PsOne and is FF IX for pal och ntsc?

Its is the NTCS of FFIX and the PSone is PAL, chip was inserted about a year ago.

you will need NTSC to PAL patch for your backup

I thought modded PSOne could play games from all regions (backed up or not).
and one more thing.. does ALL NTCS backups need a patch to run properly on a modded PAL PSOne?
