False positives with ClonyXXL

I tried searching the forums but couldn't come up with an answer for this.

Have many of you experienced false positives with ClonyXXL?

I have a CD (see my previous post if you're interested "safedisc version?") that ClonyXXL tells me uses used Safedisk v2 protection. Other programs tell me it is not using protection or is using Safedisk v1.

Thanks.

sometimes ClonyXXL doesn't report the right copy protection...

honestly, i never use this program. i always search 'manually' for the protection.

check if these files are on the cd, or in the game folder:

Clokspl.exe
Clcd16.dll
Clcd32.dll
Dplayerx.dll
(game).exe & (game).icd

if you find these files, then it's safedisc 1.

these files can be found on cd's protected with SD1 OR SD2:
Drvmgt.dll
Secdrv.sys
00000001.tmp

if these files are present, but none of the files in the first list, then it's SD2.

hope this helps.

bOOls eYe,

Thanks much for the reply.

The file, 00000001.tmp, is present on the CD but the other two files, Drvmgt.dll and Secdrv.sys, are nowhere to be found.

Would that mean that it is not Safedisc protected?

probably Safedisc 2.

check if those 2 files are in the folder where you have the game installed. if they are there, you can be sure it's SD2

what game are you talking about ?

Having answered your other thread, I am aware what you are talking about.

I am pretty sur eit is neither sd1 nor sd2. Firstly, I haven't seen an app protected with it and secondly clonyxxl only reports sd2 due to the existence of the 0....01.tmp file.

But I can't help you. I don't know what it is protected with.
