Question Failed magic installation

Ok guys, heres my latest prob (I'll be an expert shortly lol with all the faults I have)

Magic install in pal V7

Screen remains black AND no eject light!

Could the 2 be connected or am I looking at multiple faults?

If they are not connected then my first port of call will be mnop & the ribbon cables.

Thanx in advance for all advice.

It's all in the Troubleshooting Guide as I've said before. There could be multiple problems but your suggestion is first port of call.

Of course you don't say much else - like whether that happens when you switch on with no disk installed ...

Yes m8 - Booting up for the first time with no disc in the drive. I have checked again & the ribbon cables are correct & the mnop has passed the visual inspection. My 5V wire had come loose - could I therefore have blown a fuse?

Ok - I found y my blue light wasnt on - the wires D & G @ the cd controller were touching (stripped back too far) so the tray works again.

Now I have a lil flicker of a blue screen when I try booting - Anybody got an idea what causes this?

I took the liberty of deleting your subsequent post because it repeated what you've just said but not in the context of the progress yo had made. So it would have been confusing to others.

I doubt that you have blown a fuse. There could be blobs of solder on the motherboard; the BIOS chip could be bridged; more bridges on the |CD/DVD Controller.

It's plugging away at that I'm afraid.
