Give us more details concerning your hardware.
Btw, svcd can be played with windows media player as it is an mpeg2. (Open the svcd folder on your disc and open with windows media player). VCD can't be played with it as the actual movie is in dat format.

VCD's can be played in WMP, thats what we have to resort to when we play VCD's at my University.

Yes, wmp is able to this, if plugins are installed.
(Maybe versions above 7.1, which I use, are able to this without the need of plugins)

First of all, calm down, mate.
Secondly, if you have a soft-dvd player installed (e.g. windvd) you will probably have a scvd-codec on your comp which can also be used in wmp. If not, go and search the web for a scvd/mpeg2 codec for wmp. Btw, there are several ways of burning a vcd/svcd. Try Nero,e.g., and test both settings for each of them.

no offense, but you want us to hold your hand and take you right to the answer. monty has given you more than enough info, so that you could have an svcd filter up and running in less than 5 minutes. media player doesnt natively support svcd format, but get nemo's codec pack. gawd, and start using the ****ing search.
