magic chip or not? confusion
I have a brand new V7 pal Ps2 fitted with what i'm told is a magic 2 hybrid chip and not a straight magic 2...
My console has no problems booting NTSC PS1 games, I'm under the impression that the normal Magic 2's fitted to V7 pal consoles dont do this ?? not that i'm complaining its great to have the extra compatability but.... any thoughts on what kind of chip is it? also why is it that sometimes on the blue and grey animated start screen the buildings are there and sometimes they disapear? confused, Elkay

Thats rather interesting....... If you can play PS1 games on your V7 PAL ps2 that rules out the Magic 2 & Matrix 2....
Sounds like the chip has garbled the animation screen...Sort of like the (I beleive) Origa chip did...... I would like some more info on this if you can..... Where did you get it from? Where did they get the chip....etc...... I'm stumped...
