What type of DVD-r media?
Hi,
I have a Jap PS2 (15000) w/ an Origa Chip. I also have a Pioneer DVD-r Burner. What is the recommended media that I should use to make 1 for 1 backups of my PS2 games? Do they have to be DVD Silvers? Any help will do... thanks |

Try using Traxdata DVD-R's.... Dust2Dust has used these with a GREAT success rate..... Even on older PS2's..... You could also use Verbatim, TDK, or Princo's...... Princos are relatively cheap and produce great results...... If you can get Traxdata..... Go with them.... I just can't get them since I'm in the US and none of the suppliers ship here.....

Every laser has variations..Some get Generics to boot fine on their machines while others use Name Brands to boot the games..
Overall use Name Brand Discs such as TDK,Verbatim etc..Also this means your laser on the PS2 would be worked less compared using Generics..It's all about saving in the long run not for short distances..Charlie_PS2 covered this in the forum as a Locked thread.
