can we rip DVD by a CD-R

Wonder if someone can please tell me this might be a very fundemental problem.

To rip/read DVD, do we have to use DVD-rom? my cd-r (panasonic) can not even "load up" a DVD.

yes u need a dvd-rom to read ps2 dvd's to your harddrive.
