Gundam: Fed vs Zeon....jerky???

Hi,

Gundam: Federation vs Zeon disc 1(non DX) jerks during gameplay, as in pauses every second or two. I don't have the second disc.

Has anyone else had this problem, and know how to fix it?

Any help would be appreciated

Yes i got the same problem with both CD's i downloaded an 127 mb (cd1) and a 133mb (cd2) rar. If u think about how fluid CDR heavy metal and spawn where, which where from same developer and even arcade hardware... its somewhat disturbing. I heard if u downsample things and add a huge dummy on the CD it would be solved or reduced.. i donno as i suck with such things.

I guess its not proper cracked or something. The game on itself ain't bad and i still have fun with it even when it lags a little.

Both CDs are laggy!!! Ah crap

I've heard that the second disc is okay, but I don't know.

What type of media did you use?

I use Pioneer (80Min 32x) brand.

I'm wondering if media type is an issue. I recently burned Ikaruga 3 times, twice on Pioneers and once on TDK (80min 40x). The Pioneers both have trouble booting, but will eventually boot(1in5-10 tries). The TDK burnt one boots up fine first time.

Pioneers have been perfectly fine for everything else, just not Ikagura? Just a thought.

I used lifetech for CD2 and i burned CD1 on a platinum 90 mins.

I tried some more with CD1 back then (i only got cd2 of D.C. p2p program yesterday, cus i missed out on cd2 too when the game came out) I burned CD1 first on a 80 min cd at 16x and later on a 90 min cd on 4x.. no difference still a bit laggy but as i said its only annoying if u really look for it. I also noticed that the how to play scene during attract mode doesn't lag at all.

Some people where saying that the retail GD rom doesn't have this problem... just the rip. And imho the game isn't streaming either as is the case in Garou etc (huge loading noise during play and sounds that come out too late).. thats what makes it weird.

Might try the dummy method once.

Thanks for the reply

I guess media doesn't make a difference, in this case.

You said that its only annoying if u really look for it. I can't play it for very long cause it's just too obvious. It runs at full frame rate for about every two seconds, then pauses for about half a second, and that's only during gameplay. Only at the start of the first match(5-10 secs), any realtime cut scene or anything else does it run normal. Go figure.

Well it is an orgasm release.. *hint kof2k w/o energybars* so maybe they screwed up... maybe it couldn't be different and was the game too big or something.. If u REALLY like the game much try to find a not so expensive import copy of the game.. which should run fine. Or try to downsample some audio or whatever to create big a dummy on the CD, only do that if ur advanced with this kind of things, which i aint

Mmm, an orgasm type of trademark. hehe.

It seems like an okay game. Yeah, maybe if I found a cheap import I might get it. I'm still waiting for my legit copy of Ikaruga which I hope will come in any day now. At least I know that Gundam runs at 60Hz, and Ikaruga plays fine at 50Hz, and at 60Hz on VGA.

"U use DC-X for import games? it boots every *original* import game 60hz on a pal DC at least."

Do you know that for a fact? Do you have a DC-X?

I've been meaning to ask about the DC-X and if the 60 Hz mode actually works. I have the Action Replay CDX and the NTSC option in it doesn't work on any games other than ones made by Visual Concepts(eg. NFL2kx, NBA2kx, Ooga booga, etc..)

The current Imports that I have that play at 50Hz are
- The King of Fighters '99 Evolution (JAP)
- Sega Rally Championship 2 (USA)
- Virtua Fighter 3tb (USA)
- Ikaruga (JAP) (not that I have it yet)

Do you know if any of these run at 60Hz on DC-X?

Maybe I should start a new thread on this topic?

I own DC-X yes and everything that works runs 60hz but it only goes for original bought games since it can't read CD-R. When clicking a button while booting dc-x up brings u into a menu where u can choose ntsc or pal and vga support rgb support and tv out.

One game didn't work with DC-X so far i experienced and that was Hydro thunder usa....

BTW i own sega rally jap and virtua fighter 3tb jap and they run 60hz as ANY other game i own

So the DC-X can't run self-booting CDRs like the Action Replay?

Action Replay can't boot non self-booting CDRs but it can boot self-booting ones. This makes it nearly useless for SB CDRs, but at least for me, it can output proper NTSC 60Hz instead of PAL 60Hz which has a bit of funny colour shimmering effect on my TV which I can live with, but I'd prefer no shimmering off course.

Oh, does the VGA support mean that non-VGA compatible games (like Puzzle Bubble 4 or Bangai-o) can be played on VGA finally?

DC-X doesn't run any kind of warez games... Only get it if u need it for original imports.

Yes it supports non VGA games VGA but as i don't have a VGA box i can't confirm..

BUT what i read on certain faqs etc was that these games officialy not VGA compatible may be booted in vga mode but will have some graphical bugs.. some minor some major.

Thanks for the info

It sounds pretty good. Now I have to think about whether or not to get one.
