NWN Problem AFTER 1.23 update Chapter 2 error

If anyone else is or was having this problem and has or had found a solution to it, PLEASE help me out here, coz I'm frustrated.

While playing the game the first time after installation, I came across a few bugs, but I got by...until I reached what I think is the end of chapter 2 whereby when Aribeth and the Archmage Arcane ar on the Pinnacle with the Lizard battalion, the gates wouldn't open and I could not interact with The 3 main characters. I could kill the rest of the battalion with my Bow though.

I tried to update but it wouldn't work with the NO CD EXE so I reinstalled and THEN updated THEN got the LASTEST version NO CD EXE which is 1.23, then tried agani from the save game of One area before, just in case it wouldn't change it if I used a savegame of the same Area. No luck there.

I'm stuck there. I can't get past it. I checked some sites for a solution but nowhere did I find one.

Please advise.

I can't remember what the solution was but do a search.

Also, there are reports of corrupted save-games (all versions) in Chap. 2, make a couple backups of your game.
