Unhappy Problems getting any backups to boot (V5 AR2)

Hi ,

Im having major problems getting any ps2 backups to work....

I downloaded maximo (BIN & CUE) and 007 Agent under fire (BIN & CUE). I tried burning to disk using WINCDR but neither would boot at all...

I patched both games - and nothing...

I then tried to copy Tekken Tag (my original), but this too failed to boot....

I have a V5, with AR2 (yes i know noone likes them)... which i bought yesterday and feeling quite upset i took it back to the shop where at the shop it was tested and every backup worked on my machine apart from my ones...

He said i must be burning them wrong, and so i have been searching and ruining disks ever since...

I have tried fireburner, blind write, cdrwin... but none of them boot....

Im getting quite miserable now as it has cost me £50 and nothing works...

Can anyone please help?

Have you tried using Clone CD? Also, what type of Mod Chip do you have? What type of media are you using?

thanks for replying - much appreciated

I have checked compatibity and all burning software supports my sony 140..but i dont know what mod chip the guy put in..

I dled clone cd 4.0110 and clicked copy cd, then dvd, then game cd, called it tekken.ccd then next

voila!

a new coaster

I checked file and dir structure of original and copy - both are the same i just dont understand...

When booting ps2 games i follow instructions as told..

turn on ps2 with ar2 cart and bootdisk in ps2, then when started click start game, start without codes, then i insert copy and press x..

nothing!

it makes a couple of noises like its trying to boot and then nothing happens...

please help....

If your "Sony 140" is the CRX140S or the CRX140E, Clone CD does support your writer, BUT your writer is not 100% compatible.... (It doesn't have Correct EFM-Encoding).
This may be your problem... (Not 100% Sure though)
Have you had ANY games that YOU have burned, play in your V5.

Well I think u have the neo 2.2 chip install..

ref:
When booting ps2 games i follow instructions as told.. turn on ps2 with ar2 cart and bootdisk in ps2, then when started click start game, start without codes, then i insert copy and press x..

Well it could be this reason when u press x after u insert the copy game .....u got to be press the x on the right time

I mean press x just as the tray close ..........Give it a try and let us know...............

nope...no good at all..... nothing i burn works at all....ever

that even using the 2 types of cdrw..

after pressing x with game in tray, nothing happens...

no black screen, just the "press x to load disk screen" frozen for eternity...

the only indication that i have even pressed x is a few whiny noises..

anything else i can try?

i would buy a new cdrw if i knew it would sort problems out...

i know that everyone else doesnt seem to have these problems.....

It must be either my writer (i suppose i cant really count that generic one)

or it must be the way i am doing it...

i have tried the burning cds for dummies... but nothing happens and differently, i get the same result...

i can write down exactly what i do if you like?

We're waving our d*cks around aimlessly here. if he doesn't open up his PS2 and let us know what modchip he's got, we can speculate for ever.
