Find out recording speed

I would like to know if there is any way to find out at which speed a cd has been recorded.
Is there any software that can retrieve such information from a recorded cdr?
thanks in adance.

No there is no way of determining wich speed cd-r was recorded. In theory more faster you go it leaves more angled holes (bytes) in the dye layer of cd-r, but you would need a elctronic microskope to be able to see that.

i hoped that there would be a utility that estimates the recording speed based on differences on reading speed or that there is a signature burned by the recorder or something.anyway

thanks
