Nero 5.5.2.3 and 90 min. / 800 Mb cd-r

Hi,

I'm using Nero 5.5.2.3. I have the overburn option activated (expert features) and the maximum cd length is set to 90 min.
However the Plextor 1210TA v1.07 does not want to write a 736 MB file on a Platinum 90min/800 MB cd. The writer recognizes the CD-r as an 80min cd.

And, according to some articles, the Plextor should be able to write towards 800 MB

Can anyone help me out?

im not 100% sure but from what i remember a 90 min cd even if labeled 90min is just an overburnable 80min disc.
have you read the article in www.gamecopyworld.com about 90min discs and #####ed how far your burner can go?
it might be a hardware issue
also use groove reader to ##### what the disc is telling the burning program...
sorry if thats been of no help...

Posted this reply also in CD/DVD Media section but here it is again:

Don't know about that perticular Plextor model but all cd +80min cd media uses 80min standards to assure compatibility. So 90 min CDs show up as 80mins even tough they can be overburned to 90min.
It is true that most Plextor drives can burn atleast 89.59min. but some drives need to force overburning. In nero to do this
change parameter in windows registry. Run file regedit.exe from ####/Run. Go to folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ahead\Nero-Burning Rom\General and find file Oversize Default Value. Double click on this file and change Value "0" (hexadecimal box is #####ed) to Value "1". Click on OK and close registry editor.
If this don't help maybe u should try update ur firmware. If this don't help maybe u should try different burning software (alltough Nero in my opinion is the best).
