What am I doing wrong?

OK. Let's setup the situation. I have a USB Mod. I can successfully backup the CDR games and play them with my GameShark.

Based from reading the forums I bought the Pioneer DVR-A04.
I use the burning software it came with and tried the Primo DVD (which is essential the same program) from psxcopyworld.co.uk

I am trying to backup my GTA3 and Medal of Honor
I assume no patches for either.
The software is telling me the are successful copies and I can read them on the A04.
HOWEVER, my ps2 won't play them. What am I doing wrong here?

PLEASE HELP!

The USB mod does not allow the play of backed up ps2 dvd games. Sorry.

That is a very cheap modchip and was one of the first used to play ps2 games (CDR only).

It wouldn't surprise me but, I would like more backup on your statement. I was told the usb mod won't play imports, but will play backups. There were no distinction on CD or DVD backups.

I don't doubt you, but hope you are wrong. Anyway. if in fact it is true, will the no solder mod chip work?
I assume now I have good copies of my games?

I'll back Tyler up. DVD-R won't boot because there is no method for arranging a sufficiently high Table of Contents to be validly booted first to allow the DVD-R to go in behind it.

No SOlder mod does permit DVD-R to be booted.

I don't like having to use this forum to discuss other issues but seeing as you haven't replyed to any of my e-mails about my money you were supposed to return to me some time ago you have left me no choice.
Last you told me about a month ago it would be sent but still no sign of it.

I have a version 3 US PS2
Since I already have the Game Shark, I've gotten use to booting with it. What is the best chip to get for my system to play CDR and DVD-R also with the fewest soldering?

The neo2.2 pro for the least soldering.

I suggest getting a new ps2 though since anything from a v4 on back has lasers that will go out soon. I dont believe in investing money in something that will not last.

And by the way, your usb mod will allow you to play import games. I have tested a usb mod install with "Winning Eleven 6 patched to english" with no problems at all.

Have you been using the forum to send Charlie e-mails..???? If so, that is your problem.... The forum e-mail is screwed up.... Has been for some time....
I can understand your anger......BUT I also pre-paid Charlie... He sent me my refund quickly...... More than likely it is a oversight or as I stated above a e-mail problem........
Charlie has responded to EVERY e-mail that I have ever sent him...(If he doesn't get a e-mail it would be hard to respond)
As far as his REPUTATION...... Charlie has been around A LONG time........ You are NOT GOING TO HURT his reputation......
Charlie will make it right.......

Not that it is any of your business but the only reason I am using the forum is obviously since I have had no response for a month now from either e-mailing him through the forum or directly to his address.
I assume that if your money was refunded then mine will too. However he must have received some of my messages and it would be nice to have a response. Untill I do so I will say what I like and use what ever communication tools at my disposal to try to get through to him.

Cameron has had his e-mail from me and I think you'll find that everything is squared off OK.

I'll tell you something, that damn G-man has something to answer for. How many tens of thousand of USD have had to be refunded on pre-orders for his stupid Messiah 2? He owes big time!
