Diss
i just burned one with 1.05

bUT how do i actually tell if its a true copy? - the reason for asking is that it was Unreal Tournament which i had already applied a NO-CD patch to so the game works ok anyway

the security was Safedisc R2 - the copy CD auto runs and lets me start the game (but the game doesnt need the CD), and CD protection detective reports that Safedisc R2 is present on the copy CD - does this mean that its ok?

not sure how safedisk works - would it stop the disk even running, or would it only stop me playing the game?

The only way to tell if you got an exact copy is to remove the No-CD crack and see if game works. You'll get 2 posible errors, the insert CD error or a long CD ##### process that will produce a file error. Supposedly, any firmware above 1.04 it's been rumored that Plextor made a deal with the safedisc people, so it won't do an exact copy. Personally, I returned my 121032A as soon as I found out copied discs would only work in the Plex. I have an Acer 10x8x32 and haven't had any problems, just need a slow burn.

So far I've done NBA 2001, I think NASCAR 4 is SD2, and 1 or 2 other games and no problems. There was a web site that one of the moderators posted that listed all the burners that were SD2 compatable. Acer was one, Plextor noted the play only in Plextor problem, but can still copy.

So if i wanted a burner that would make custom cd/ back up protected games and software you would recommend the acer 12/10/32A? if so how much is it and it's reliable?
