pioneer dv525 does it play -R or +R

I'm looking at purchasing a DVD burner, currently i'm leaning towards the Pioneer DVR-A04 (-R/-RW) as it's more compatible with the PS2. The other is a Ricoh MP5125 (+R/+RW).

My question is this:

Has anybody had any success playing any of these discs on the Pioneer DV-525 standalone DVD player?

well it plays +R
just got to test -R now
