IDE CDWriter

i have a IDE CDwriter type.....can i use it to making a selfboot game?

Yes, as long as it is supported by either Disc Juggler or Nero. If the self-boot image is a .CDI file (Disc Juggler) but Disc Juggler doesn't support your writer, you can convert it to a Nero image (.NRG) using CDI2NERO and burn with Nero. If neither program supports your drive, you might be able to make self-boot discs manually by breaking the images apart with CDMAGE and reassembling them directly on the disc using CDRECORD, following the Self-boot tutorials.

If you are wanting to take original game discs (Sega GDROM discs) and copy them to self-booting discs, this is impossible with **ANY** CD Writer. It requires a special cable to connect your Dreamcast to your PC, after which you have to rip the disc to your PC and hack and modify the results before reassembling it to another disc manually.
