Yeah right Ive been in the ps2 mod buisness for a long time and EVERY single boot disc I have come across never worked. Or only worked for PS1 backups.

I dont trust you!

well that is up to you but i will quickly go through the process of how the disc works
when inserted into the ps2 the playstion one logo comes up as if it is a ps1 game. Then the machine runs about a dozen self tests such as testing memory cards ram etc. you then see a brick wall and have the message saying completed appears you then ejct the boot disk and insert a ps2 backup and it boots fine. dvdr backups do not boot only the cdr backups but just about every game has cdr backup versions of it availible but spanning multiple disks. I think this is a small thing to suffer to not have to risk opening your mavhine to fit a modchip most of which also requiring a disk swap( unless is messiah ect which is very hard to fit and takes about 2-3 hours to do)
anyway i can understand your sceptism alot of people dont trust new things but remember no one thought a boot disc for dc would appear but it did then shortly after self booting backups appeared. things dont stand stillAC

.....Mods requiring swaps.....

Errr....isn't this method essentially a swap?

Besides, alot of people already have a GS2/AR2 for the sake of cracking some games. The swap mods are pretty cheap, and not that hard to install--and most all will boot DVD-R's. The only limitations are against TOC.

$30 seems a bit pricey for such a limited functionality, when a v5 US can do it all with a no-solder and GS 2 for $45.

I have to agree with Tyler...seems a bit sketchy.

Even if this disc boots as you say i dont understand how after the swap the backups play since i tried AR, GS on a ps2 with out a modchip and in both cases all backups crashed(freez). I think that the backups still need a patch.

Send me an evaluation copy and I will write a review.

If you are willing then my e-mail address is charlie_ps2**********com

In the meantime the sceptics have it. If you don't send me an evaluation copy nobody's going to believe you anyway.

Man you are full of it. There is no way to boot a PS2 backup from PSX format. It's different code. I hope no one out there is stupid enough to fall for this.

how can you have a boot disc, as that would mean the bad sectors that sony put on to the cds has some how been extracted and the discs would have to be pressed not burned for the ps2 to read it

sounds like bs to me

Sounds to me like this guy is talking about the old Yaroze(?) CD that everyone
and their dog thought could be burned and used to boot when in fact you still
needed a Modchip and the program was a Terminal program Development kit to
run code off of a computer link. Funny thing, if I remember correctly it did
some ram/system tests, said OK and the background was a brick wall and did
NOT boot anything!!!

I have however been trying to think of a way to boot CDR's without needing
a Gameshark,Manager,or RegionX CD. Still needing a chip, what would happen
if you put a PS2 EXE file on a PS1 format CD? Say you make a PS1 cd that
boots up and loads a PS1 menu program such as the 4in1 or 5in1 CD menu.
Instead of selecting a PS1 EXE to boot, you make it to select a PS2 EXE
file. has anyone tried such a thing?
