Not all EA games require patching, just a few do. Games like ready 2 rumble 2, NHL 2001 and SSX must be patched to load with a USB mod no matter if you have clone cd and a 100% compatable burner or not. It's a limitation of the mod (a usb mod has alot of limitations) not the software.
