Angry Neo 2.5 DVD-Key PS2 DVD Backup booting problem

Let me start out by saying I am a newbie...see post number

I have installed a Neo 2.5 DVD mod chip in my PS2 Version 4. I am able to play PSX originals, PSX backups and PS2 originals. I am having a problem with PS2 DVD Backups.

I am using a GS2 version 1.93

Here is my problem:

a. I press the reset until both lights are flashing
b. the GS2 menu appears and the GS ejects
c. Replace GS2 with PS2 DVD original (grand Theft auto III)
d. I press "start game" then "without codes"
e. At this point I expect the tray to open but all that happens is the blue light flashes.

I am stumped...any help would be greatly appreciated!

Weird

I have exactly the same setup except mine is PAL and all is perfect first time.
PAL V4, Neokey 2.5, AR 1.93
All I can say is check your wires, points and solder for crossing tracks. They are usually the main problems.
Where did you get the chip from? Mine was from Lik Sang.
Good luck

Question?

Thanks for your reply loffler:

I know when I installed the chip, I soldered the black wire (1) to the opposite side of the fuse as directed in the diagram. I did this because I pulled the solder off the other side by mistake. Could this be the problem? If so, how can I get the wire to stick to the fuse now that I pulled off the the solder that was there?

The PS2 works fine otherwise.

Is there anything that tells what each of the 5 wires are for?

Diagram

I couldnt say what each solder point is for, but I wouldnt recommend putting the wires anywhere your not supposed to.
When you say fuse, do you mean resistor? Putting a connection on the wrong side of one of these would give wrong voltage or signal info, so could be your problem
I have heard of people repairing solders with a hot glue gun (it sticks but does not conduct).
Good luck
