need help buying another cd-rw

I have a Philips 24x12x40 Internal CD-RW Drive [PCRW2412], and planning to replace it [don't like it, can't make backups using clonecd, ie: MOHAA, GTA3]. I'm thinking of buying either a LiteOn 32x/12x/40x or 40x/12x/48x. Are these reliable for making working backups or should i consider a different model/brand. I want to use CloneCD[backups] and Nero[regular burning].
