DC qont read bootdisk sometimes

Sometimes my dc doesnt read my bootdisk and it goes to teh cd player screen. Other times it boots like a charm. I made a new disk and it does the same thing. what gives?

Possibly the type of discs you're using are just border-line unreadable by your DC. If it can't see the boot properly, it will drop to the CD menu.

Do you mean the brand? Caus Ive tried like 3 different boot discs, and regardless of brand its hit or miss. I use them fine on other DCs. Is it possible the laser crapped out or something? any one else have this prob?
