Lite-on its 40x 48x?

i have a lite-on LTR-40125S and it is 40x12x48. but i have looked in clonecd. a can set the speed to max (48x) but my writer is 40x how can that is it a bug or somthing.

This is a cosmetic glitch in Clone CD. It will allow you to set the write speed to more than your drive is capable of - but it will still only write at your drive's maximum. This happens with all drives.

If you want a 48X Lite-on however, consider flashing the firmware with a 48X firmware.

How Would Ya Do That ?

How can ya do that(im new ) how would i do that, would i have to buy it from the company or can i mearly... umm i dunno dload it..and what can happen if i do ?
